How to apply

EU instruments run on calls with fixed deadlines and formal proposal templates, submitted through the EU's funding portal (or via the national contact point for programmes like Eurostars). Read the call text closely — evaluation criteria are published, and proposals are scored against them literally.

Plan for months, not weeks: consortium building (where required), proposal writing, and evaluation each take time, and success rates are materially lower than in national instruments. Many companies use experienced grant writers for these — with amounts this size, professional preparation usually pays for itself.

A strong track record with national funding (Business Finland, ELY-area instruments) is often the credibility base an EU application stands on.
